6 Night 7 Days  Lasha EBC Tour

Lhasa literally means “places of gods” often known as the forbidden city of the world. Lhasa is home to Dalai Lama and the palaces still exits in the city which is major site for the tourist attraction. Lhasa is stationed at an altitude of 3656 m from sea level. Some of the major temples in Lhasa are Jokhang Temple, Sera Monastery, Drepung Monastery, Tsurphu Monastery, etc.

Only breakfasts are included in this trip

Costs: US$10 to US$16 for lunch and dinner in a single day.

Foods: Tibetan bread, dal (lentil soup), bhat (rice), tsampa porridge and other simple local foods.

Day 1
Fly to Gongar Airport and Transfer to Lhasa (3650 m)

On arrival in Gongar, you will be greeted to airport by our local representative who will then provided you the private vehicle. After about 1 hour of drive, we will reach Lhasa where you will check into the hotel. You will rest in the hotel for the day. However you can wander around the local places on your own if you feel good.

Day 2
Drive to Shigatse and visit Lhunpo monastery (3900 m)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel and the drive to Shigatse begins. The duration of the drive is 5-6 hours covering the distance of 265 km along Brahmaputra river passing through Nimu valley, main agricultural area in Lhasa. After reaching Shigatse, you will visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, located in the hill in central part of Shigatse city, which was founded by first Dalai Lama.

Day 3
Drive to Rongbuk Valley and visit Rongbuk monastery (5000 m)

After breakfast, you will be picked up from the hotel and you will start the drive to Rongbuk valley via Sakya Monastery. The drive will over distance of 385 km taking about 8-9 hours. On arrival in Rongbuk valley, you will get chance to see glimpse of Northern Face of Mt Everest.

Day 4
Visit Everest Base Camp (northern side) (5250 m) and drive back to Gyantse

Early in the morning, you will drive to Everest Base Camp. On the way, you can have the mesmerizing view of peaks such as Shishapangma, Cho Oyu and Everest, also known by name Mt. Chomolongma on Tibetan side. After spending some quality time in the Everest Base Camp, you take scenic drive to Gyantse.

Day 5
Gyantse Sightseeing and Drive back to Lhasa

After breakfast, the local guide will take you to Palchoe Monastery, Kumbum Pagoda Stupa, Phalkot Monastery and Gyantse Dzong. After Sightseeing, we drive back to Lhasa. On the way back, you can see huge glaciers tumbling down to road as well as some excellent mountain views. Then you will come across the Karo La Pass (5045 m) where you will see Karo La Glacier. After that you will come across Khamba La Pass (4794 m) with brief stop to observe the beauty of Yamdrok Tso Lake and then the beautiful Nazin Kang Sang glacier (7252 m).

Day 6
Rest day at Lhasa and Lhasa Sightseeing

You can take a rest day at Lhasa, perform full day Lhasa Sightseeing which explores the monasteries in the city or you can wander around the places and perform last minute shopping.

Fly back to Home

Our representative will drive you to the airport fro where you will catch your flight to next destination or your home.
